Certificate adoption
Malaysians who are fully vaccinated will be able to travel abroad by using the MySejahtera app as a digital vaccine passport. Those will obtain a yellow profile on the MySejahtera and will potentially be allowed certain freedoms and privileges – this may include international travel to selected approved countries.

Entry protocol
For general measures
Category of Travellers Allowed Entry
- Malaysia nationals
- Foreigners holding valid Malaysian long–term visit passes can enter the country without immigration clearance via MyTravelPass/MyEntry.
- Travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians.
- Other foreigners that are not listed in the above–mentioned categories are required to apply via MyTravelPass/MyEntry before entering Malaysia.Travellers are advised to refer to the Official Portal of Immigration Department of Malaysia for detailed information.
Document requirements
- Provide a negative RT-PCR test result taken two (2) days before departing to Malaysia, failing which, their entry will be denied. The certificate must be presented in digital or hardcopy, preferably in English or Bahasa Malaysia.
- Download and update the MySejahtera application on their smartphone prior to arriving. Please visit https://mysejahtera.malaysia.gov.my for more information.
- Travellers entering Malaysia from any of the categories are required to observe specific requirements to enter into Malaysia (click here to see more information)
- All travellers must go through a Health Assessment by the medical officer on duty upon arrival. They are required to undergo RT-PCR test
- All travellers are required to install the MySejahtera application on their phones and scan the QRCODE “Travellers from Abroad” via the app. They may visit https://mysejahtera.malaysia.gov.my for more information.
Quarantine
- Observe a 7-day quarantine for fully vaccinated travellers* and a 10-day quarantine for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers upon arrival at designated quarantine centres or home quarantine, subject to approval.

Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, CanSino, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), Oxford/AstraZeneca, Sinopharm (Beijing), Sinovac
Vaccine accepted for inbound travellers
Malaysia recognises vaccines approved under the World Health Organisation’s Emergency Use Listing.
Border status
Partially open. Effective 23 December 2021, Malaysia Airlines will temporarily stop accepting new bookings for all Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights until 20 January 2022. However, travellers can still book the non-VTL flights.
