Austria has already implemented the “Green pass” for those who have vaccinated against COVID-19, recovered from COVID-19 or hold the negative test result.

Green pass certificate has 3 following types:
1. Vaccination certificate. The following information is included on the this certificate:
- The vaccinated person’s surname(s) and first name(s)
- The vaccinated person’s birth date
- The disease or pathogen against which the person is vaccinated, dubbed “COVID-19,”
- Vaccination/prophylaxis
- Vaccines and pharmaceuticals (name of the vaccine according to approval)
- The holder of the vaccine’s marketing authorisation or the producer of the vaccine
- The number of vaccine doses in a vaccination series, as well as the overall number of vaccine doses
- The vaccination certificate for the first dosage of a COVID-19 vaccine planned for two doses (BioNTech/Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna) includes the information “1 of 2.”
- The vaccination certificate for a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, in which two doses are delivered (even in the event of several vaccinations in the case of “non-responders”), carries the information “2 of 2.”
- The vaccination certificate for a dosage of a COVID-19 vaccine for which only one dose is planned (Janssen) includes the information “1 of 1.”
- The vaccination certificate for a dosage administered following a molecular biologically proven infection with SARS-CoV-2 includes the information “1 of 1.”
- As long as the minimum gap of 90 days to the first vaccination series was observed, the vaccination certificate of a subsequent vaccination contains the information “3 out of 3” or “2 out of 2.”
- Vaccination certificates for a subsequent vaccination (1st Janssen dosage or dose following a molecular-biologically proven infection with SARS-CoV-2) include the information “3 of 1” or “2 of 1,” as long as the minimum gap of 90 days from the first vaccination series was met.
- Vaccine date (for each received dose according to the recommended vaccination schedule)
- Identification of the state in which the vaccination was administered,
- Identification of the person who issued the vaccination certificate,
- The vaccination certificate’s unique identification.
2. Recovery certificate. The following information is included on the this certificate:
- The tested person’s surname(s) and first name(s)
- The tested person’s birth date
- The “COVID-19” disease or infection from which the person has recovered
- The date on which the first positive molecular biology test result was obtained
- Identification of the state in which the test was performed
- Identification of the certificate of recovery’s issuer
- The beginning of the recovery certificate’s validity period
- The expiration date of the recovery certificate
- The certificate of recovery’s unique identification
3. Test certificate. The following information is included on the this certificate:
- The tested person’s surname(s) and first name(s)
- Date of birth of the tested individual
- Only “COVID-19” for the target illness or pathogen for which the individual has been tested
- Type of test
- Name of the test
- The name of the test’s manufacturer
- Date and time of sampling
- Test result (proven/unproven) * *”proven” denotes a positive test result, whereas “not proven” denotes a negative test result.
- Name of the test center or the testing facility
- The name of the state in which the test was performed
- Identification of the test certificate’s issuer
- The test certificate’s unique identification.
Certificate format
Both electronic and paper format. All certificates with an EU-compliant QR code can be shown digitally, via the app, or in paper with a picture ID.
Entry protocol
For general measure
- Currently, travellers are not required to show the vaccination, recovery or negative test result certificate before arrival.

It is also acceptable to mix and combine vaccinations. The abovementioned following list, however, only relates to entering Austria. Only these vaccines are recognized throughout stay:
