Entry protocol

Nicaragua does not have entry restrictions in place and no official quarantine policies. But anyone who enter to Nicarugua must follow with these requirements.

  • Citizens and visitors to Nicaragua must produce a negative COVID-PCR/SEROLOGY test at the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport at least 72 hours prior to entrance. Prior to the date of travel, the COVID-19 test results should be provided electronically to the airline.
  • A negative PCR COVID-19 test is also necessary to enter through any of our land borders. Note: Citizens of the CA4 member nations (Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras) are exempt from paying immigration tariffs if they enter Nicaragua with an original and valid identity card.
  • Tourists from other countries who arrive with a fever or respiratory symptoms will not be allowed to enter the country.
  • Nicaraguans with a fever or respiratory symptoms will be allowed to enter the country but will be subjected to a stringent quarantine, according to the Ministry of Health’s biosafety protocol.
  • Visitors to Nicaragua must complete out an online form given by the Ministry of Interior to enable an agile, orderly, and secure application for entrance into the nation, whether arriving by air or land. The application must be submitted at least seven days prior to your arrival in Nicaragua.
